Safety and Comfort: Spending a Little More for My Baby’s Well-Being

For my second baby, I prioritised researching a cot mattress with safety and quality in mind, focusing on avoiding harsh chemicals, potential mould, or heavily treated materials. Knowing how much time babies spend on their mattress with their face close to the surface, I wanted something safe for her developing body. I chose this and was thrilled with their 10/10 service and quality. The reversible mattress—one side for infants, the other for toddlers—is exceptional. It’s affordable compared to standard options and provides peace of mind. Highly recommend!

Could not be happier!

I could honestly not be happier with this mattress. Because of the inclusion of thoughtful materials and the exclusion of harmful toxins, as well as features such as the option of a firm side for baby and softer side for toddler, I am completely reassured my baby is able to sleep safely. That peace of mind is so important as a mother and one of the most important purchases you make for a new baby. I highly recommend this mattress to others!

My baby has not slept on this mattress as yet but I can see it is of good quality. I am a little worried about the smell.. I am guessing the wool smell will dissipate over time? Overall seems like a nice mattress and I just have to pray this baby is not allergic to the smell of wool !

You will be pleased to know that around 1% of the population has a latex allergy and wool allergies are even less common. The mattress is covered by a cotton casting and a pebble mattress protector. Thus, there are no direct skin-to skin contact with wool inside the mattress which eliminates the risk of a wool allergy. The smell of wool is completely natural. Other companies use heavy chemicals and bleach to wash their wool or try and mask the wool smell using artificial fragrances. Our wool is washed with hot water and organic soap. This process allows our wool fibre to retain two to four percent of its lanolin oi. Lanolin oil is a natural dust-mite repellent.
Our mattresses are anti-microbial, free from VOCs, breathable, and durable. Best of all they do not release chemical emissions into your home which is commonly associated with memory foams and synthetic latex mattresses. They do not off-gas and are safe and non-toxic.

Beautiful mattress, worth every penny!

We brought this for our newborn (18 months ago) and it’s an incredibly beautiful mattress! Super soft, no chemicals, organic, two sides , one for newborn and other for toddler, we may switch sides soon seeing as he’s 18 months old! I love that it has an outer cover to be able to wash if need be (I use mattress protectors) and for those who worry about having a mattress topper, it’s completely safe, it’s not thick at all, I wouldn’t even really consider it a mattress topper, super safe! The quality is amazing, I LOVE the fact that they have multiple different sizes variations so you can have the perfect fit for your little ones cot! 11/10 would recommend, if you’d spend $500+ on your own mattress, why not spend that on your little ones mattress, we will get years worth of use out of this mattress and if we have another bub they’ll use it also, if not I can definitely see this having a high resell value!

Firm Feel

100% Natural Dunlop Latex
We use Dunlop latex in our mattresses because it is more eco-friendly than Talalay latex, which requires more processing. Our Dunlop latex is sourced from tree-tapped and sustainable sources in Asia. Dunlop latex is naturally antimicrobial, cooler than memory foam, and also more durable than Talalay latex. On all Milari Mattresses we use seamless layers of Dunlop latex. No blended or synthetic latex is used, there are no seams to break down over time, and no solvent-based chemical adhesives.

Natural Australian Wool

The benefits of organic wool’s complex and natural physio-chemical structure are endless: it wicks away moisture, keeps your mattress smelling fresh, and acts as yet another all-natural fire barrier. It’s breathable — both warm and cool when you need it. Its natural crimp gives it bounce, body and soft support characteristics. And it’s also non-allergenic (ideal for those who suffer allergies to feather and down or synthetic bedding products) and a renewable resource. No additives or synthetics are added to the wool. It is scoured with a biodegradable detergent then treated, before being rinsed again and steamed. At Milari Organics, we add a layer of pure, naturally crimped Australian Wool (0.5 cm per standard mattress on each side) under the certified organic cotton inner cover in every mattress.

Tencel Outer Pebble Cover

For a luxurious and premium finish, we use a breathable organic tencel / poly-blend cover. Our soft pebble cover is naturally derived from 100% sustainably grown organic eucalyptus fabric. This sustainably made fabric give you a healthy sleep, it is also good for baby’s scalp, skin and the environment. This beautiful pebble cover is removable and fully machine washable. It sits on top of 100% organic cotton casing which secures the internal mattress layers firmly in place without the use of chemical adhesives.
